The Eagle

My Testimony: The Eagle That Revealed My Prophetic Anointing

Before I ever knew the term prophetic anointing, before I could name my calling or understand what God had written on my scroll, there were dreams.

They began simply—night after night, I found myself flying.
Not in a vague, symbolic sense, but literally.
I could see landscapes rolling beneath me. I lifted off, hovered, and soared high above the ground.

At the time, I had no idea what these dreams meant.
I searched online for interpretations of “flying dreams,” not realizing they were early signposts of something God was awakening in me.

Then came the Scripture.
Isaiah 40:31:

But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles;
They shall run and not be weary;
They shall walk and not faint.

Every time I opened my Bible, that verse seemed to stand out—like God Himself was underlining it.

Even then, I didn’t fully understand.
I only knew my spirit was being drawn higher.

In time, I felt inexplicably drawn to images of eagles.
I began posting them on social media—without any clear reason.
It wasn’t simply admiration.
It was something deeper, almost as if part of me recognized them.

Out of curiosity, I began studying eagles—reading about their habits, their symbolism, and their nature.
Among them all, the Philippine Eagle caught my attention and pierced my spirit with awe.

Unlike other eagles, this one looked almost crowned—with a majestic crest of feathers around its head, like a royal mantle.
Its sight is legendary: the Philippine Eagle can see clearly more than 8 times the distance a human can.
Its wingspan is massive.
Its strength allows it to hunt prey larger than itself.
It is rare and fiercely protected, dwelling high in the forests—untouched, undefiled, set apart.

All these details began to echo something in my calling.

Set Apart:
The Philippine Eagle is endemic to the Philippines—found nowhere else on earth.
It is marked as unique, irreplaceable, and precious.
This mirrored what God had whispered over my life: that I am not interchangeable, but set apart for a purpose no one else can fulfill.

Crowned in Identity:
Its distinctive crown of feathers became, for me, a picture of authority and consecration.
Just as this eagle wears its identity visibly, I felt God saying, “I have placed a mantle on you. My anointing rests visibly upon you, and you cannot hide it.”

Unmatched Vision:
The Philippine Eagle sees what others cannot see—from greater heights and over greater distances.
This spoke to my calling to discern, to see in the Spirit, to watch and intercede over the land.
God was preparing me to perceive hidden things and declare them in season.

Strength to Carry and Protect:
This eagle can lift heavy prey, demonstrating supernatural strength.
God was saying He would strengthen me to carry burdens of intercession and revelation others might find too heavy.

Rarity and Endangerment:
Its endangered status also resonated: prophetic voices are often rare in a generation that prefers comfort over consecration.
Being set apart can feel isolating, but it is also sacred.

These reflections didn’t come to me all at once.
They unfolded gradually—through the dreams, the Scriptures, and finally, an unforgettable real-life encounter.

One day during a fieldwork trip to Santa Marina, it all became clear.
We had just left the barangay hall, riding a kuliglig down a winding road, when one of my officemates shouted:

“Oy! Eagle!”

I looked up.

And there it was—a real Philippine Eagle.
It soared overhead, then perched on a tall tree right in front of our path.

I quickly tried to take a picture, but before I could, it flew again—not away, but ahead of us.
It landed on another tree, waiting.

Even after we passed it and I turned to look back, it was still there—watching, marking the moment.

I felt it in my spirit:
Excitement. Recognition. Invitation.
And the Lord whispering, “Behold.”

In that instant, the pieces connected.
The dreams, the verse in Isaiah, the hours studying the eagle’s nature—it all made sense.
The Lord was confirming what He had been unveiling all along:

I was called to soar.

Later, I read prophetic words about “eagle prophets,” and something deep in me stirred again.
But the confirmation was already alive in my spirit.
God had spoken in dreams, in His Word, and in that living sign in Santa Marina.

And then came another dream:
I was flying again.
When I looked to my left, I saw my own wing—and its plumage matched the Philippine Eagle.
That detail sealed the revelation in my heart.

This is the calling God entrusted to me:
To ascend in the Spirit.
To see from a higher vantage.
To intercede.
To declare.
To carry messages between heaven and earth.

This eagle anointing did not come from ambition or striving.
It was given.
It was revealed.
It was confirmed.

Now, I don’t just write.
I soar.
I see.

I speak from the heights.

The Philippine Eagle showed me who I was before I ever knew who I was becoming.
And every time I remember it, I am reminded:
I am set apart.
I am crowned.
I am called to the heights.
