When the Bridegroom Found His Bride: Our Testimony
I used to feel like my life was meaningless. I longed for my life’s deepest and truest purpose.
I dreamt of fulfillment, of earthly successes, of romantic loves. But none of them ever really satisfied the gnawing hunger in me. I didn’t know my wanderings and hunger would lead me to Him.
One ordinary day, I went with a sister and her brother, not knowing they were going to a church. Deep inside, I had another motive.
But even before I stepped a foot inside the church, before the door opened to me, I suddenly heard a voice from the depths of my heart that said:
“You are the one I have been looking for.”
It was not a mere whisper but a clear declaration. That one sentence unraveled the hunger I did not know I had within. From then on, a beautiful yet complex journey with the Lord Jesus began.
Not only as my Savior, King, and Lord—but He revealed Himself to me as my Bridegroom, my Husband.
I realized the answer to all my life’s dreams and longings was Him alone.
The One my soul loves.
The One who has fashioned me for His very own purpose.
The One who dreamed dreams with me before He laid the foundations of the world.
That one voice broke through the walls I didn’t know I had built.
Slowly and painstakingly, I began remembering who I was.
I remember the first time He told me, “I love you very much.” He said it three times, each time with such tenderness that my heart ached and melted under the weight of His longing.
I remember the special moments He sang over me, and how His songs wrapped around my weary soul like a healing balm.
I remember when I was battling condemnation after a dark dream, and He silenced the accusations with the simple words:
“I love you with an everlasting love.”
I remember when He invited me in the middle of an ordinary day:
“Pray with Me.”
That invitation felt like the most intimate call to partnership, to share His heart, to stand beside Him in His purposes.
I remember when I wept from feeling unworthy, and He whispered that He created me for Himself alone.
I remember how He would gently correct me, but always in the tone of a Lover who refuses to lose His beloved.
I remember the times when I felt the ache of longing for more, and He answered it not with rebuke but with the assurance that He Himself placed that ache inside me.
There are so many testimonies I am still keeping to myself, because I am honoring the timing and the purposes of the Lord.
The Voice I heard that day has continued to whisper, to speak, to roar over me in so many ways—unraveling entanglements, breaking false coverings, healing old wounds, and restoring promises written long before I was formed in my mother’s womb.
He has been the One who heard every question, felt the sighs of my heart, shared the secret tears, and answered every hidden longing.
I am now realizing that every time I look back and recall His words, I discover those words carried so much more depth and meaning than I could have ever imagined.
They are living words—words that continue to unfold and bloom inside me.
If you, too, are longing for something deeper, if you are searching for the One who truly satisfies, know this:
He is nearer than you think.
He is waiting to whisper your name and call you His own.
